My wife (fiancee at the time) selected Dorian Deaver as an instructor for our first dance at our wedding. I am in residency, so gladly deferred to her choice. My fiancee had already had a few lessons with her father and had high praise for Dorian's instruction by the time it was my turn. When I went, I was happy with the instruction he provided. He created a structured dance to match our selected song and was encouraging throughout the lessons. Dorian's enthusiasm for dance is infectious, and as he would tell you, he has generations of previous dancers' guidance that he passes along to his students. The fact that the studio is in Dorian's house makes the process very straightforward and comfortable. I hope to be able to carve more time out in my schedule to continue taking classes with Dorian.

I contacted Dorian ahead of my wedding to work on my first dance with my dad and also my husband to be. None of us had any prior ballroom/formal dancing experience. We purchased a pack of 10 classes and Dorian let us schedule when was convenient for us. His studio is a perfect set up in his basement with a huge dance floor. He was very patient starting with the basics and I had a great time with my dad as a nice father-daughter activity and with my fiance it was a sweet date. Dorian gave us confidence to perform at the wedding, something out of all of our comfort zones. Besides being a great teacher, Dorian is funny and kind and you can tell he truly cares about his clients.

Dorian is an amazing dance instructor! We went from dance beginners to dance aficionados in a matter of a couple classes. We are 100% going back to Dorian to learn a few more dances to use throughout our life. From his first inspirational class to the fine tuning of our steps and confidence in our final class before our wedding, we learned and smiled throughout it all. We could not have asked for a more personal, knowledgeable, friendly, and talented teacher! Dorian catered to our talents and built our talents up with each and every new class. Dorian is amazing! We realized a little too late into wedding planning that we wanted to learn some basic ballroom steps for a first dance. We approached him about a month before our wedding and he was totally committed to the challenge! He is so personable and warm and helped us work through a basic routine. We had such a good experience that we're planning to keep learning dance from Dorian!

Dorian was the best! My groom and I were a little apprehensive when we first started, but after 5 lessons Dorian had a looking amazing. He starts with fundamentals and builds a routine for you. We can't wait to show our friends and family next week at our wedding!

Dorian is the best!! We started with him not having any dance experience and after working with him a few months we wowed our guests at our wedding during our first dance. Dorian is the BEST! We came to him with 2 weeks until our wedding, and in 5 classes, we had a full wedding routine. He was patient, kind, and constructive in feedback in making sure we understood our dance steps and made them our own. He let us know his goal was to make it "our dance, not just the dance Dorian taught you" and he gave us the support and skills to make that happen! Our guests were WOWED on our wedding day! He has a great studio in his home that is spacious and easy to get to. TOTALLY recommend if you want a wedding dance that isn't the usual 'swaying'.

Dorian is a true miracle worker; with only 5 lessons and 2 weeks before our wedding, he was able to take us from stepping on each others feet to bona-fide dancers! His knowledge on a wide variety of dance styles is truly extraordinary, and he helping us choose are song and match it to the right dancing style. His friendly attitude and infectious natural energy really bring you out of your shell, even if you don't think of yourself as the "dancing type." I would recommend him 100% to anyone working on their special wedding dance.

From a baseline of having no dance experience whatsoever, my wife and I were able to learn and pull off a fantastic wedding first dance thanks to Dorian! We took private and group lessons with Dorian Deaver for our wedding. We had 6 private lessons that taught us our bridal dance (fox trot to Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon"). We kept it a secret from most of our family and friends, and wowed the crowd the night of the wedding. It was so much fun and such a delight to do something that most weren't expecting! Our enthusiasm in our first dance set the tone for the rest of the night. Dorian was a great instructor!
